YAF Launches 2026 School Tour at Okuapeman SHS, Impacting Thousands of Students

The Yaa Animah Foundation (YAF) successfully launched the first edition of its 2026 School Tour at Okuapeman Senior High School on Saturday, March 21, 2026.

Held under the theme “Give to Gain: Empowering Futures,” the programme brought together thousands of students for a transformative experience centered on empowerment, purpose discovery, and personal growth.

This initiative forms part of YAF’s commitment to empowering young people, especially girls, through education, mentorship, and impactful engagements.

Inspiring Purpose and Leadership

The event featured impactful sessions led by seasoned speakers, Mr. Joseph Awen Awan and

Madam Victoria Sitsofe Ama Nipa (all Chartered Accountants) , who engaged students on:

 Purpose discovery

 Leadership development

 Personal growth and resilience

 Academic excellence

A highly interactive panel discussion session followed, allowing students to ask questions, share concerns, and receive practical guidance on navigating life and future careers.

The programme created a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere through student-led performances, including: Drama presentations highlighting real-life challenges, dance and choreography performances, and Spoken word poetry by both sighted and visually impaired students

A standout moment was the spoken word performance by visually impaired students, which deeply inspired the audience and reinforced YAF’s commitment to inclusivity and equal opportunity.

Exciting Inter-House Quiz Competition

One of the major highlights of the day was the inter-house quiz competition, designed to promote:

 Critical thinking

 Teamwork

 Problem-solving skills

Participating houses included Akuffo Addo, Dunkwa, Ofei, Owuku, Opoku, Acheampong and Kwadade House.

Kwadade House emerged as the overall winner, showcasing exceptional performance and teamwork throughout the competition.

Meaningful Engagement and Networking

Beyond the main programme, students had the opportunity to:

 Interact directly with YAF team members

 Learn more about YAF’s impact initiatives

 Seek mentorship and guidance on personal development

Many students expressed a strong desire to discover their purpose, grow, and become impactful individuals in society.

A Lasting Impact

The programme left a significant impact on participants, with students leaving:

 Inspired and motivated

 More confident in their abilities

 Better equipped to pursue their goals

The energy, enthusiasm, and engagement from the students made the event a resounding success.

What’s Next

Following the success of this first edition of the year, YAF is set to expand the 2026 School Tour to more schools across Ghana, reaching thousands more students and deepening its impact nationwide.
