VISIT AND DONATION TO ISSAH IDDRISU: A SCOLIOSIS PATIENT

On the 3rd of August, the Yaa Animah Foundation team embarked on a trip to Oyarifa to donate on behalf of the Executive Director, Mrs. Linda Boamah Asante. The team had the opportunity to witness firsthand the challenges faced by Issah Iddrisu dealing with scoliosis. The patient had experienced a sideways curve of the spine, resulting in mobility issues and chronic pain.

The father of the patient reached out to the foundation through our website for aid. Issah Iddrisu’s surgery was conducted on the 16th of July 2024 at the Focus Orthopedic Hospital. The hospital recommended a wheelchair to allow ease in mobility after the surgery. As a result of this, the foundation donated in cash to support the acquisition of the wheelchair.

However, during our interrogations with the patient’s guardian, it was revealed that, Issah Iddrisu had a surgery on his legs at Koforidua, but unfortunately the surgery was not successful. Due to this, the doctors recommended another surgery to be made after he recovers from the scoliosis surgery. Despite these difficulties, his resilience and positive attitude were truly inspiring.

This donation is just one of many efforts the Yaa Animah Foundation is doing to fulfill its purpose of having a long-lasting impact on community health.
